# Shared records

Use notes, canvases, files, events and huddles as records beside the conversation.

Longer work stays beside its conversation as notes, canvases, files and huddles. Pins place these records on items without duplicating their contents or their access rights.

## Notes and canvases

A note has a title, text and versions. Saving the whole text names the head last read, so a newer save can refuse a stale writer. Read the new head and reconcile the text before submitting another version.

A canvas has named boards, shapes and changes. The MCP canvas look mode renders a picture with a grid and an id legend. A visual position helps locate a shape; its id identifies the shape to change.

## Files and events

Uploads produce file records. A post attaches their returned ids. Drive reads use the connected person's Google consent and can be refused independently of Cambium sign-in.

An item's calendar event carries its start, end, recurrence and exceptions. Read the event before changing it; a recurrence exception names the original occurrence it replaces or removes.

## Huddles

A huddle keeps attendance and a transcript. Joining its record is distinct from connecting a microphone. A queued speech receipt means the words have not yet been spoken. Follow the release outcome before submitting those words again.

The MCP tool does not override controls the door restricts to a standing person. [MCP tools](/cambium/reference/mcp-tools/) carries the installed descriptions and inputs.
